  • NFV AN presentation on  Management Data  Analytics Function (MDAF) Haitao Xia Huawei
    • Presented overview of ETSI NFV MANO and addition  of automation functions including Policy Management and Closed Loop Automation 
    • Showed where the new functionality of MDAF is located iwithin ETSI MANO.    
    • Notion is to be able to monitor  cloud environment And MaNO in a uniform way though asynchronous Data Analytics Interface
    • MDAF/ MDA service interface and information model specification in ETSI GS NFV-IFA  047 (v4.4.1), is just published in March 2023.
      Covering  MDA service requirements and corresponding service interface requirements are defined. Is an addition function to provide uniform view of multiple resources. 
    • Currently, studying uniform  alarm management approach with common alarm syntax.
    • Slides end with complete list of references and URLs.
    • Question: about how the alarm types will be related to commonly available Kubernetes monitoring tools like Prometheus 
    • Answer: Currently under study but need recognized.

  • Active discussion on the distinction between Intent Object and Intent Instances in context of Intent handler proposal.
  • Discussion about scope of models Object in MANO  and relationship to Network Services. 
  • Discussion of use of TOSCA For orchestration with NFVO. 
  • Main focus is to expose Intent API above Mano to simplify the interaction.
  • Discussion about adding Intent to service request is not the same as managing the lifecycle of the service.
  • Looking for a simplified Mano capability before considering  incorporating the functionality of EM behind the Intent Manager to get a full NS Lifecycle vie.  For further Study   
  • TMForum explained  there single Intent API but with multiple ontologies and 'Connector' support for linking to other SDO model including those in Yang
  • Noted that TM Forum  rdfs approach creates a model at stage 2 which is automatically used to generate Stage 3 ontology specifications. 
  • Noted that there  the move of TMF specification from IG1253 ( informative ) to TR 290/291/292/293 Normative specs is still not well-known nor that these spec are public.
  • AP TM Forum to liaise information to ETSI about change of IG1253 to TR 290/291/292/293 Normative specs and provide URLs where they are available

  • ETSI Release 4 proposal will have requirements /Stage 2 at end 2023H1 for Intent Handler
  • Proposed a followup to see if TMF Intent API plus Ontologies could be a Stage 3  solution to the ETSI stage 2 Requirements for Intent Handler
