2. Theme Overview / Executive Summary

Mission
  • To make the 'People' side of the Open Digital Architecture a reality by delivering the frameworks, foundational standards, and know-how required for a successful digital transformation that leverages the organizational design, people, skills, culture, values, decision-making, governance, and technology.
Value (Benefit)
  • Going into 2023, 68% of leaders identified talent and skills as an organization's top issue. As a result, leaders feel vulnerable regarding the availability of talent, operational design, and culture. In addition, only 43% of leadership is prepared to act on the internal digital transformation challenges organizations are experiencing to meet demands. The work in the People and Planet program will help operators invest in a successful digital transformation on the 'people' side.
Implementation
  • Enable CSPs to deploy the ‘people’ side of the Open Digital Architecture (ODA) so that they can achieve a successful digital transformation
  • Create a mature Tech Organizational Design so that CSPs can deploy better decision-making on operations, people, and culture in their existing processes to make them more intelligent and inclusive
  • Deliver the Tech Organizational Design framework and governance tools so CSPs can manage and operate the ‘people’ side of the Open Digital Architecture (ODA)
  • Drive global adoption of the people, culture, and operation frameworks and own the position of a successful digital transformation
Theme Projects
  • Tech Organizational Design (TOD)
    • TM Forum’s Tech Organizational Design (TOD) project is helping the industry deploy and manage the ‘People’ side of the Open Digital Architecture by creating a framework for organizations to master operations, people, and culture for a successful digital transformation. TOD empowers service providers to get more intelligence from their ‘people,’ allowing better decision-making and making the organization a more inclusive employer. Digital transformation is fundamentally changing how companies react to organizational design and talent. The industry is moving to platform operations and integrating digital technology into all business areas. As a result, the fundamental processes are changing how results are delivered in terms of new value to customers. It includes organizational, people, and culture changes centered on alignment across leadership, strategy, values, operations, inclusion, skills, and workforce talent evolution.
