Types of Catalyst projects


CSP Catalysts

Open Source Catalysts

Ecosystem Catalysts

Description
  • Project addressing a CSP challenge (ie the prospective buyer of the solution developed by the Catalyst is a CSP)
  • Project whose primary mission is to leverage open source to create solutions or that primarily uses open source software to showcase their demonstration
  • Project addressing an ecosystem challenge (ie the prospective buyer of the solution developed by the Catalyst is a vertical market player, not a CSP)
Catalyst Champions
  • CSP (TM Forum Member)
  • CSP (TM Forum Member)
  • Vertical market player (may be a Non-member)
Catalyst Participants
  • TM Forum Members
  • Non-members may join as Participants (but not as Champions) subject to additional fees (see pricing table)
  • TM Forum Members
  • Open Source organizations
  • Companies who are “members” of open source organizations
  • TM Forum Members
  • Non-members may join as Champions or Participants (subject to additional fees, see pricing table)
Minimum Requirements
  • 1 Champion plus 4 Participants
  • Team must include at least 3 TM Forum Members and 3 paying Participants*
  • 1 Champion plus 3 Participants plus 1 Open Source organization (TM Forum may act in this role)
  • Team must include at least 3 TM Forum Members and 3 paying Participants*
  • 1 Champion plus 4 Participants
  • Team must include at least 2 TM Forum Members and 3 paying Participants*
Fees
  • Participants pay fees
  • Champions do not pay
  • Non-members pay 2.5x standard Catalyst fees
  • Flat fee is paid by both Champions and Participants
  • Participants (including CSPs) pay fees
  • Non-members pay standard Catalyst fees + 20%

Catalyst Project Team Roles & Responsibilities RACI

Here is a list of the project team roles & responsibilities and RACI.

Project Team leads will need to identify members to fulfill the relevant roles and add this to the current project charter which can be found in the project page in Confluence.

Each Catalyst Project needs at least one Catalyst Champion and one Catalyst Participants.  More than one team members can be a Catalyst Champion or Catalyst Participant.

  • Articulate the Industry User Story
  • Act as a Champion for the team
  • Review progress at six weekly intervals to ensure relevance
  • Champion final deliverables at TM Forum events
  • Drive adoption in your own organization by championing the use of Open Digital Framework assets

  • Develop collaborative solutions in accordance with the Project Charter and in line with TM Forum’s Collaboration processes
  • Participate actively in team working meetings / sessions
  • Complete tasks as agreed with the Project Team Lead or Initiative Lead.
  • Review all outputs from team and provide timely feedback ensuring output aligns with business and technology requirements of your organization
  • Participate in validation activities, these may be online or face-to-face
